I am so so soooo excited to be hosting our third photography workshop "Snapshop" just for moms! I realize a professional photography session is an indulgence. A once a year event that gives you the chance to dress up a little and show your family at its best. But I also realize there are TONS of moments during the year that also deserve to be captured – first smile, first steps, first bowl of spaghetti, first day of school and all the giggles and fun in between – and these moments deserve to be documented if not professionally at least accurately (exposed correctly and in the best light and hey, if you can throw in some creativity even better!).
This relaxed, fun workshop will teach you how to use that nice, fancy camera you have to its full potential. I’ll show you the best places in your home to take photos and how to take creative photos beyond the snapshot.
What you will learn:
- The basics of photography (shutter speed, aperture, ISO, composition, finding dreamy light, etc.).
- How to really use your "fancy pants" camera!
- Tips and tricks for taking fantastic snaps of your kids, plus how to have fun both behind and in front of the lens!
And… a mini shoot with the MOST adorable model in our studio and outdoors (weather permitted) she will come for the last hour or so for everyone to practice on – I definitely feel this is one of the most important parts of a workshop where you will be able to ask me as many questions as you can dream up, and get one on one help in applying everything you have learned!
Not to mention having a fun mom’s day out (no kids, no husbands) hanging with creative mama’s just like you!
So who is this workshop for?
Moms, Aunts, Grandmas, Sisters, Girlfriends. Do you see the theme here? Yes, all women. I want to have a fun girls class where you feel as comfortable as possible asking any questions you may have.
Basically anyone that would like to take better photos of their kids. You don’t have to be a Mom but please take note the workshop is tailored towards Mom’s taking photos of their children.
What this class is not:
This is not a class for professional photographers, those wanting tips on creating a photography business or those who already have a good handle on composition and storytelling. If you already know the ins and outs of photography or have taken other workshops, this course will be too introductory for you. If you are thinking about starting your own photography business this class is not for you. I will not be discussing the business of photography.
What you need to participate:
- A DSLR Camera
- A relaxed and fun attitude! :)
